Description of Chamaerops humilis Vulcano, Dwarf Palm

Small ornamental palm appreciated for its hardiness, resistance to drought and spray, the Chamhumilis aeropsis part of the Palmaceae family. It is native to the dry and sandy areas of southern Europe, particularly the Mediterranean basin.

Its large, gray, fleshy, 40 to 80 cm, palmate leaves spread out at the top of one or more stipes covered with intertwined brown fibers revealing the base of the old, naturally fallen leaves. Chamaerops has a squat habit and rarely exceeds 2.5 meters in height.
