Description of Bamboo Robusta Pingwu

Non-tracing bamboo Pachymorphic rhizomes.

Family: Poacée

French name: Fargesia Robusta Pingwu, Fargesia Robusta Pinhu.

In the middle of summer, the stalks of Fargesia Robusta Pingwu have reached maturity. With its white sheaths Fargesia Robusta Pingwu is undoubtedly the most amazing plant in the garden. Its colors associated with rapid growth, a straight and tight tuft, and evergreen foliage, make Fargesia Robusta Pingwu essential to any collection. Whatever the shape chosen, it is very robust and probably tolerates lower temperatures than we think.

Planting fargesia robusta Pingwu

All Fargesia grow much better in soil rich in humus and rich in nutrients. If soils are poor, sandy and very loamy, soils need to be improved. Mix as follows:

  • 1/3 peat
  • 1/4 of pine bark grain (size 7-15)
  • 1/10 of lava granules
  • Its own compost and 1/3 of your garden soil.

The addition of clay granules (seramis or pumice) greatly increases the storage of water. Then do not forget to fertilize with bamboo fertilizer. (preferably nitrogen rich).
