As its name suggests Fargesia Nitida 'Black Pearl' is a bamboo not tracing the Nitida family. It differs from the famous Nitida Jiuzhaigou sp1 (or Red Panda by its very dark stems almost black). The foliage is slightly wider and also brighter than Jiuzhaigou, resistant to disease and cold it is ideal to be planted in hedge (at the rate of a pot every 80 cm) or solo. Like all the nitida it prefers shaded or sheltered situation, it is inadvisable to put it in full sun in the South of the Loire.
