The Siberian larch , is a species of tree of the genus Larix and of the family Pinaceae . It is a tree particularly resistant to cold: its natural domain is located in western Russia from, to the west, the border with Finland to the east, the Yenisei valley.

The Siberian larch is a medium to large tree that can reach 20 to 40 meters in height with a diameter of 1 meter.

Because of its resistance to decay, larch wood is particularly sought after for posts, railway ties and mine posts.
